Transport for West Midlands
Two engagements, one through-line. From around 2020 I helped lay the foundations of account-based ticketing at TfWM — Swift Go, the region's pay-as-you-go scheme on bus and tram, with automatic fare capping and best-price calculation across operators.
Today I'm leading the programme that extends Swift Go to rail — one of the first schemes in the country to take account-based pay-as-you-go onto heavy rail — tap-in/tap-out travel across bus, tram and rail. I lead TfWM's contribution end to end, working closely with Great British Railways, the DfT, RDG and the region's train operators. The pilot covers 75 stations, scaling across the wider region in the next phase.
